Meteorological Solutions Inc. Job Opening - Air Quality Technician - Position Filled - January 2011
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide meteorological sensor and air quality instrument calibration, maintenance, and audit services for numerous clients in the United States with most in the Intermountain West. Instrumentation includes wind direction, wind speed, vertical wind speed, evaporation, temperature, relative humidity, precipitation, barometric pressure, snow depth, and solar and net radiation. Typical air quality instrumentation include analyzers measuring the following pollutants: oxides of nitrogen (NO, NO2, NOX), ozone (O3), particulate (PM2.5/PM10), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and carbon monoxide (CO).
• Maintain current certification of audit and calibrations standards.
• Conduct installations of meteorological and air quality equipment.
• Assist with field research operations including analyzer maintenance and calibrations in remote areas.
• Assist with gravimetric filter laboratory operations.
Basic/Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in environmental science, meteorology, or engineering preferred. Practical field experience a plus. Working knowledge of state and environmental (EPA) rules and regulations. Proficient in MS Windows operating environment, plus MS Office experience strongly preferred. Strong client interaction and internal/external communication skills.
Physical Demands: Must be able to travel freely without limitations.Must be able to function on feet for up to 12 hours per day at field sites. Multi-day field efforts are not uncommon.
Compensation: After initial 90 paid internship period, salary range will be $2,500 to $3,100 per month, depending on qualifications, plus fringe benefit package including health insurance and Simple Retirement account participation.
